What are the operation and cleaning requirements for gravity casting?

Gravity casting is a kind of casting technology for metal raw materials, and it can also become gravity casting. The scale of casting is very wide. Sand mold casting, metal casting, lost foam casting and mud mold casting can be called gravity casting. The scale of casting is very wide in industry. Car parts, motorcycle parts, motor communication hardware, etc. can use gravity casting.

During the operation of gravity casting, we must do a good job in fire prevention measures in the workshop, because once the red castings and splashed molten iron touch the human body, they will be burned. Once they touch flammable or explosive materials, we can't imagine the result. And if you are not careful in the production process, you may burn the molten metal. High temperature castings will also be burned if they are accidentally touched. There are necessary standards for the operation of mechanical equipment in the casting process to avoid the occurrence of fault or abnormal operation accidents.

After the completion of the operation, the cleaning operation of the equipment shall be sorted out in time, and the protective operation shall be carried out during the cleaning, so as to prevent the dust from being inhaled and causing damage to the human body. It is also necessary to wear protective clothing for high temperature and thermal radiation damage.

Die casting is the metal mold pressure on the die casting machine. It is a casting process with high production power. Die casting machines are divided into hot chamber die casting machines and cold chamber die casting machines. The hot chamber die-casting machine has a high degree of automation, less data loss, and higher production power than the cold chamber die-casting machine. However, restricted by the heat-resistant ability of the parts, it can only be used for the production of castings with low melting point data such as zinc alloy and magnesium alloy.

Nowadays, the widely used aluminum alloy die castings can only be produced on the cold chamber die casting machine because of their high melting point. The primary feature of die-casting is that the metal liquid fills the cavity under high pressure and high speed, and forms and condenses under high pressure. The disadvantage of die-casting parts is that the air in the cavity is inevitably trapped in the casting during the filling process of the metal liquid under high pressure and high speed, forming subcutaneous pores. Therefore, aluminum alloy die-casting parts should not be heat treated, and zinc alloy die-casting parts should not be sprayed with plastic (but can be painted).

When the air hole inside the casting is heated by the above treatment, it will encounter thermal expansion and cause deformation or bubbling of the casting. In addition, the mechanical cutting allowance of die castings should also be small, generally about 0.5mm, which can not only reduce the weight of castings and reduce the cutting amount to reduce costs, but also avoid penetrating the surface fine layer, exposing the subcutaneous pores, and forming the workpiece void.
