The quality requirements for low-pressure casting processing mainly include the surface roughness, size, shape, physical properties, mechanical properties, and whether there are holes, cracks, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, etc. The casting industry is prone to many quality problems in the process of low-pressure casting, but the core factors that really affect its quality are roughly divided into three categories.
1. Reasonable die casting process
It is necessary to have a reasonable die-casting process, that is, according to the structure, weight and size of die-casting parts, die-casting alloy characteristics and production conditions, select appropriate parting surface, modeling and core making methods, and reasonably set up casting ribs, risers and gating systems, so as to ensure the processing of high-quality low-pressure castings.
2. Design process of die castings
During the design, in addition to determining the geometry and size of die castings according to the working conditions and metal material properties, the rationality of the design must also be considered from the perspective of die casting alloy and die casting process characteristics, that is, obvious size effect, solidification, shrinkage, stress and other problems, so as to avoid or reduce the occurrence of component segregation, deformation, cracking and other defects of die castings.
3. Quality of raw materials for low pressure casting
If the material used is unreasonable, the casting will have defects such as air hole, pinhole, slag inclusion, sand sticking, etc., and the appearance quality and internal quality of the die casting will be scrapped in serious cases. It is also necessary to formulate reasonable process operation procedures for die castings, improve the technical level of workers, and correctly implement the low-pressure casting procedures. If you want to make a better die casting processing, you should pay more attention to the above three factors.
